Discover Moffitt Cancer Center: Resources, Prevention & Understanding Your Cancer Risk
About this Program:
Join the Women’s Resource Center for an informative and empowering webinar featuring Moffitt Cancer Center. This session will introduce you to Moffitt’s mission and the many cancer care, education, screening, and prevention resources available to women and families in our community.
Learn how Moffitt’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement works to bring trusted cancer information and resources directly to communities across the Tampa Bay region and discover how you can connect with services that may support your health and well-being.
The webinar will also include a special introduction to hereditary cancer risk. You’ll learn how genes and family history can influence cancer risk, how hereditary cancer differs from more common forms of cancer, and what “red flags” in your family history may suggest an inherited risk. The presentation will demystify genetic counseling and genetic testing, including what to expect, potential benefits, and options for cancer screening and prevention when someone is found to be at increased risk.
You’ll leave with practical information you can use right away, whether you’re looking to better understand your own cancer risk, support a loved one, or learn more about resources available in our community.
