    About this Program: 

    Now Offered: the third Thursday of every month

    Appointments open up for scheduling 90 days in advance. If you do not see any availability, we are currently booked through the next 90 days.

     

    Are you facing financial challenges like debt collection, medical bills, or Social Security disputes and need expert legal advice for free?

    The Women’s Resource Center has partnered with Gulfcoast Legal Services (GLS) to offer free legal consultations on financial-related legal topics including:

    • Medical Bills

    • Contracts

    • Public Utilities Issues

    • Debt Collection Defense

    • Creditor Harassment

    • Garnishment

    • Credit Report Review

    • Car Repossession

    • Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices
      and more

    You will first meet with a paralegal who serves as an intake specialist. During this meeting, they will gather information and then match you with an attorney who best fits your legal needs. A separate consultation with that attorney will be scheduled as a follow-up meeting.

I further understand that I am not a legal client of Women’s Resource Center, any law firm by and through an appointment with Women’s Resource Center, or any lawyer I may have been in contact with or consulted with through the Gulf Coast Legal Service at the WRC. Any lawyer or law firm I meet cannot provide legal advice to me until and unless a written retainer agreement is executed by myself and a law office.

    I understand that the personal information I share will be held in the strictest confidence, except that which would violate the Florida Reporting Laws concerning child and elder abuse. I understand that the Women's Resource Center (WRC) is a grant-supported organization that receives funding from various funders, which may request access to any or all agency records related to the programs that they fund to evaluate or monitor the program delivery of service, and that I consent to the release of records for these purposes. Furthermore, I understand that any records provided by funders may become public records, may be subject to applicable state or federal exemptions, and may be inspected by a third party. 


    I also hereby permit the WRC to obtain and/or disclose my information or records needed for monitoring and follow-up purposes with partner organizations such as CareerSource Suncoast. I understand that I may revoke this consent at any time by providing a written statement indicating that my consent to releasing information is no longer given.
